The gate for the Blowhole Cave was designed and installed by Jon Jasper and a whole host of willing volunteers. The goal for the gate is to keep the untrained and unequipped out, yet allow for easy access by those willing to register and obtain the FREE permit.

Here is the Blowhole Cave gate looking at is as you approach from the outside. Those familiar with the cave will realize that this is located after the first 15’ drop from the surface. You cannot access the gate without first gearing up.

NOTE: Those wearing glasses to see the small combination lock numbers may have their glasses fog up a time or two while unlocking the lock, due to the high rate of warm moist air blowing up and out of the cave.
