CAVE ACCESS MANAGEMENT FEES

The original 2009 Cave Management Plan had the provision to have a $10 Cave Access Management Fee, but this has been modified. Don’t get us wrong, it still takes money to maintain and manage the cave, but we are now relying upon donations. Access to the Blowhole Cave is now FREE. The cave maintenance expenses will now be offset by private donations from our cavers and interested individuals. We need your help and are asking you to contribute by purchasing Nutty The Weather Bat.

THE WEATHER BAT - Every cave needs a bat and since our cave has none, we have adopted one and we are proud to announce the Weather Bat as being “The Official Bat of the Nutty Putty Cave.” We are encouraging all trip groups to make a donation to the Nutty Putty Cave maintenance fund and receive their very own Nutty Putty Cave Weather Bat. The Nutty Putty Cave Weather Bat is just $10 plus $3 shipping and handling, with the profits going to the Nutty Putty Cave maintenance fund and  $1 donation to the International Bat Conservancy.

REQUIRED DEPOSIT

LOCK/DAMAGE/TRIP REPORT DEPOSIT - A deposit of $25.00 is required to cover the cost of replacing the locks and taking care of damages. This will be billed in the event that:

  1. The locks are lost or damaged as a result of the visit.
  2. There are damages resulting from the visit.
  3. The online trip report is not completed by the Trip Leader within 7 days after the trip. BUT WHY THE TRIP PREPORT? The Trip Report is the primary alert system for hazards in or around the cave that require immediate attention by the Cave Management Group. Deposits will be received either as a check or credit card.

NOTE: The online secure deposit will be made via a secure webpage hosted by Michael Leavitt.

U.S. MAIL PAYMENTS
  • One check ($25) and one return postage paid envelope are required to be submitted to the Cave Access Manager 14 days prior to your trip. 
    • Return Envelope - Enclose a self addressed postage affixed return envelope for the Cave Access Manager to return your $25.00 deposit.  Choose the type of postage that will assure you of getting your returned check.  Deposit checks will be return mailed within 7 days after the Trip Report is submitted.  The Cave Access Manager is not responsible for undelivered mail.
  • NOTE: If the mail method is used, all other online reservations, forms, and approvals for the trip must be completed. The mail method provides an option for those applicants who prefer not to share their credit card info online.
